FEATURED PROJECT SHELL STARSHIP
Translating lower carbon concepts into reality.

Translate fuel efficiency concepts developed by Shell into a working prototype that could be field tested and toured across the country to demonstrate proof-of-concept.

Engineered and fabricated all new carbon fiber and fiberglass work for the truck concept, as well as a new chassis, drive train, and new electronics inside and out.

Fully operational truck used in tours and trade conventions across the country to demonstrate Shell’s innovations in fuel efficiency. The Starship easily doubled the efficiency ratings of the typical rig.
As part of an ongoing effort to maximize fuel efficiency and pursue greener solutions to mass goods transportation, Shell embarked on the Starship project. This project focused on pushing the boundaries of energy efficient truck design, to demonstrate how the industry can collaborate to reduce energy usage and CO2 emissions by harnessing the best of currently available technologies. Reaper was the key fabrication partner in translating Shell’s concepts into reality.
